School of Ceip es Puig

School/Institute/Educational centre – General education (pre-primary level)   Ceip es Puig

CEIP Es Puig is a school located in the outskirts of a tourist village, Sóller, in the north west coast of Mallorca in the heart of “Serra de Tramuntana” which was declared Human Heritage by the UNESCO at the Balearic Islands, Spain. Sóller has a population of aproximately 14000 inhabitants and it is 24 km from the capital city in the Balearic Islands, Palma de Mallorca
We have pre-primary (3 to 5 years old) and primary (6 to 12 years old) students in the same building. There are a total of 293 students.
The school was associated to the “Red Nacional de escuelas UNESCO” (Schools' National UNESCO Net) in 1989. Since then two teachers attend the UNESCO National meeting in a different city around Spain every year.
Our school also participated in the study and field work about “Serra de Tramuntana” mountain range when it was declared UNESCO's Human Heritage.
At the age of 12 we have a school trip to practice some adventure sports and to celebrate the students finish their primary education and will leave our school to face their new satge at a secondary school. The main purpose of this trip is to spend a good time with all the friends and teachers who have been together during those years.
