Οur school is a Category A “Deis” school which means we are a disadvantaged school. A high number of our children’s parents are on low incomes or on Social Welfare. There is also a wide ethnic base of our pupils, with over 20 different nationalities in the school.

The school is in a good location for outdoor activities with a beach, woods, two parks, playing fields and a large school grounds of over 2 hectares. The staff of our school are very interested in Outdoor Education and are keen to incorporate as much “outdoors” as they can into the curriculum. Due to the climate this is an intention that is best used during the mild Summer and Autumn months.

Our school is an environmentally aware school. We have received recognition for this on five separate occasions when we received the Green Schools Green Flag award for out environmental work. The flag award helps children to be aware of their role in the world and how they can help to make this a better planet for all of us to live in.
