Szkola Podstawowa Nr 171 im. Stanislawa Staszica
Our school is located in Wesola, the newest district of
Warsaw with no industry and a small service sector, without sufficient culture
institutions.
It was a small town surrounded by forest - 60% of the area
and 10 years ago became a part of the capital of Poland. At the moment we have
many advantages of a place close to nature such as the Masovian Landscape Park
and Nature Reserve called Jack’s Swamps with peatland and dunes and a very good
fast train connection to the centre of the city, which means easy access to
culture and educational institutions.
Our school provides general education for about 350 children
6-13 years old and we share the building with a separate lower secondary school
with about 180 students 13-16 years old, we also let one classroom for a group
of 20 kindergarten kids 3-5 years old.
The school itself has one pre-school group of children 5 -7
years old. Among school facilities there is a playground with racing track and
a football pitch with artificial surface, a sports hall and gym. Students also
attend swimming lessons at a swimming pool in neighbourhood.
